With over 20 years of HR leadership experience across various industries and global organizations, I bring a passion for people, organizational culture, learning, diversity, leadership coaching and development, and continuous improvement to the People function at a strategic and operational level.
I am a native of Costa Rica and an accidental storyteller. I enjoy sharing my immigrant story to inspire others to pursue their dreams and draw wisdom and strength from life's inescapable obstacles. My growth mindset motivated me to pursue a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy in Executive Leadership), focusing on organizational culture as a unique and enduring source of competitive advantage for technology-enabled companies. My goal in pursuing this doctoral degree is to gain SME-level expertise to use evidence-based practices that build positive value-driven cultures and leadership, given the complexity organizations face in a 21st-century global context. As an HR executive, I'm deeply passionate and committed to building and sustaining positive organizational cultures where people are enabled to thrive. It is my core belief that leadership is fundamentally about relationships. As such, we are responsible for creating psychologically safe spaces and forming deep and respectful connections with our colleagues. I am dedicated to developing executive leaders and teams that prioritize emotional intelligence, understand the significance of psychological safety, and deliver value to the business.
